Q:  How do I know when I need to book an appointment versus walking in?

A:  Your health & well-being is of utmost importance to us.  If you require a post-surgical garment fitting it's best to book in advance to be sure we have the space and time to provide you with a proper fitting.  However, if you are in an immediate need situation, ie: already had your surgery or are having your surgery within 24 hours, we will do everything we can to accommodate your fitting.

Q:  I am scheduled for surgery.  When should I book my post-surgical garment fitting?

A:  We always recommend you book your post-surgical garment fitting as soon as you have your surgery date, whenever possible.  You will take your garment with you when you go for your procedure and will be wearing it right from the hospital or clinic.

Q:  Does Saskatchewan Health cover the cost of my post-surgical garment?

A:  No, Saskatchewan Health does not cover the cost of your garment, however if you have private insurance such as Great West, Blue Cross, GMS etc. its very likely these garments are covered.  We always recommend you contact your insurance provider and request information on exactly what your plan covers and what documents they require for you to receive reimbursement.

Q:  Does Red Lotus directly bill my insurance provider?

A:  No, you are required to pay for your garment at the time of purchase and submit receipts to request reimbursement from your insurance provider.

Q:  Can I bring someone with me for my consultation?

A:  Yes you can!  We actually encourage you to bring a support person with you.  Our consultation room has enough space to accommodate yourself, your support person and yet still provide privacy for you while you change.

Q:  What types of consultations require an appointment?

A:  Whenever possible, we encourage you to pre-book your consultation when being fitted for a prosthesis or post-surgical garment.  We also understand that this isn't always possible and can provide walk-in consultations.  Wait times will depend on previously booked consultations and consultant availability.
